Here is the answer the home part sent:
Give thanks you for contacting The Pampered Chef! Wild rice is unfortunately a
catchy on in the rice cooker plus because it merely takes manner as well long to
cook. I cannot give any direction on it. Honestly, my best advice for
wild rice is to soak information technology in water 1 twenty-four hours ahead of time then melt on the
stove either in chicken broth or some lightly salted water. The rice
cooker plus I fear would do a disservice to wild rice. Remember though
that wild rice is not rice at all. Information technology'due south actually a "grass"...who knew,
correct? That's why it doesn't melt the same as nigh rices. I hope this
data is useful. Accept intendance!

DO Non LET HER Practise It AT ALL IN THE RICE COOKER! I had a customer who tried it and she did non ask for whatsoever communication. She just figured no problem. It was. Because information technology took so long to cook, per the microwave instructions on the box, she melted the bottom of the cooker and no, PC would not supercede it. The Rice cookers are made to be used at high temps for more than 10 minutes or so. If yous effort to cook broccoli in them, that as well will burn before it is cooked.

The Utilize & Intendance card actually says to use only rice that has microwave directions. I would venture a guess that Wild Rice does non have those directions.

I was curious to come across if anyone else had whatsoever problems with wild rice in the rice cooker plus. I really used a wild rice and long grain mix and decided to see if it came out okay in the rice cooker. I burned the bottom of it. The packet came with microwave directions - 3 min on high and 22 minutes on 50% power. I actually stopped it at ten to check information technology and it seemed to be okay. I turned around a few minutes later and information technology was burning. Oh well, at least I know not to recommend it.

Distressing you had this experience. I use Uncle Ben'southward Country Inn Long Grain and Wild Rice, Chicken Rice, and other flavors and melt as per directions and it comes out perfect every time. The bundle directions are 4 minutes on high and viii - ten minutes at 50% power. Remove from microwave; permit stand 5 minutes or until water is absorbed.

Most of these recipes are not for the rice cooker plus. Many are for the micro cookers and some don't appear to even be related to the key words in the search. lol

I accept cooked wild rice (regular not a white rice mix) in my rice cooker plus many times and it has turned out dandy. I cook information technology on high for 10 minutes - and so on 50% ability. I start at 20 minutes, and keep adding time until it is done. [Information technology has taken up to 45 min to an hour on 50 % ability. No time saving from cooking on the stovetop.
It depends on how long I accept soaked it prior to cooking. I take cooked it by just rinsing first and not soaking, although you should soak it to assistance loosen the outer shell.
