How To Remove Concrete Fence Post Base

  1. Hi guys. Im thinking if putting a new contend up but need to get rid of this concrete mail showtime thats holding upwards my former stick fence.. Any idea how far deep they go and wether they have whatsoever concrete block underneath?

Or any suggestions? Bending grinder with diamond disc after going into the ground? Has anyone encountered this kind of post earlier?

  2. Exercise y'all need to site a new post in the same location? If and so, it will have to come up out. It's probably eighteen-24" in the basis and set in concrete. If yous practice need to remove it, dig down 1 side of it with a narrow spade (or better still a trenching tool) and lever it into the pigsty yous've just made - sufficient to loosen information technology enough to remove. It will be heavy - try to set up some grade of lever to lift it out. Try non to dig all around it (a common mistake) as you lot then stop up with a hole twice the size you need which volition require more physical when the time comes to secure the new post.

If y'all're non putting a postal service in the same spot, you can cut it off below ground level only watch for it snatching on the cutting disc as yous get through it.

  3. Wont need to site the new one at that place. The new one volition be affluent with the wall almost 2foot down
  4. Just dug effectually it abit. Its lickily not too far downward. Problem is theres a conservatery right side by side to it my adjacent door neighbours and then i need to exist very careful breaking it to pieces.

  5. Blindside base of post with lump hammer or sledge hammer (blanket over it on neighbor size to intercept any stray projectiles) concrete volition easily break away and 4 reinforcement confined exposed which you tin can then cutting off
  6. Update: i take removed the horizontal one totally along with the concrete holding it. Was an like shooting fish in a barrel enough job. Now the vertical ane i have gone down 1 foot and ut doesnt seem to want to end lol.

  7. Er, yous do realise your new mail cannot exist affluent with the wall due to the walls ground ? Only saying ;)
  8. I hadn't the heart....

I wasn't exactly sure if that's what was meant and anyway, the postal service could exist shortened and fixed to the wall instead.

  9. You seen the slipped brickwork ? ;)
  10. Lol i know. Once i get the matter out i volition expect to straighten the bricks out lol make them flush. Using a pneumatic drill
  11. Lol i did think of that. My idea was set up to wall and as well have a foot or and so cloak-and-dagger too.
  12. Could leave the fence postal service in. But remove the strut. The post has hols and so a postal service could be stock-still to it.

Going to be a big lump of concrete undere the mail.

A breaker is the correct tool to breake upwardly the footing. A SDS may exist likewise minor and underpowered.

  13. Flooded hole with water then unscrewed the fence from it and after alot of struggling...voila

  14. After finally getting the onetime posts out i move onto the adjacent stage....

    1ft gravelboard 5ft panels.
If i flush the concrete post confronting this wall then it wont become under footing because theres ii bricks and 1 ft of physical pointing out at the bottom.

If i put the post into the footing so there will be a 1ft or so gap between the mail service and the wall. I dont think the wall is that strong as yous can see the country of it, its about 65 years old. Will i be able to cover the gap with something that will look overnice or volition it look nasty?
The priority is the rigidness and strength of the mail simply i also dont want to be left with a 1 foot gap that sticks out similar an eyesore unless theres something to make full it with...

  15. Update: i ended up making the bottom 2 bricks level with the residuum of the wall amd will put the post flush at present plus 2ft depth in the footing with postcrete. I needed to know what size bolts will i need and rawplugs to gear up the physical post to the wall?
  16. Why practice yous need to fix it to the wall you accept 2ft concrete holding it in identify
  17. The postcrete will exist around 3 sides only. 1 side will be flush with the soil and wall so just for that extra back up
  18. Its affluent with the wall so its non going anywhere
